The Ancestry of Herbal Alchemy
Across millennia, healers have looked to both the stars and the soil for guidance. Herbalists like Paracelsus (1493–1541) and later Nicholas Culpeper (1616–1654) taught that every plant is a reflection of the heavens: its growth pattern, color, scent, and medicinal effect reveal the planetary archetype that governs it. This principle, known as the doctrine of signatures, offered healers a way to perceive the deeper intelligence within nature.
In this lineage of herbal alchemy, plants are not only biochemical agents but carriers of pattern and intelligence.
