Recently our evanhealy team joined forces with our sales and education team in the radiant wilds of northeastern Washington state for our annual Distillation Gathering.
During this event we harvested and distilled three new magical plants that capture the sunlight and dreaminess of the soul of summer. These plants, organically grown and copper-distilled by our cherished artisan distillers, Jud and Anne, thrive along the Columbia River Valley. This remarkable land nurtures the plants that become so many of our diverse family of botanical ingredients. We are so excited to introduce these new plant waters with you. Sweetgrass is known as the hair of Mother Earth. It is one of the four sacred herbs of indigenous North American peoples and is represented in the East on the traditional medicine wheel. It was also strewn throughout churches in medieval Europe so that the sweet smell rose with each footstep. In fact, humans have been cultivating sweetgrass for over 6,000 years! In Greek, hierochloe literally means “holy grass.” It is perfect to use when clearing spaces for meditation, prayer, and ritual.
