Jasmine Hydrosol is first and foremost a sweet, voluptuous water. It is possibly the most exotic hydrosol I've ever smelled and even on the most stressful of days, it never fails to bring a smile to my face or loosen the tension in my shoulders.
There are those that might tell you that the only jasmine hydrosol produced is one from the Indian attar (Motia) but there actually is someone who is distilling from a rich jasmine concrete. Ours is the product of a true alchemist's art and this distiller produces especially for us. One spray of this rare, limited edition aromatic jewel will convince you.
I recommend it as a lovely and sheer Water Perfume, it may be sprayed in the hair after washing, or on the body after an application of a Body Oil or on the face after application of a Facial Oil. The oil will help anchor the fragrance to skin.
In the tradition of Ayurveda, jasmine calms an irritated or 'hot' system. It is an effective remedy for stress, burn-out and insomnia. Jasmine Hydrosol is especially effective for alleviating depression, tension or nervousness.
Hydrosols as Water Perfumes
Any of our Facial Tonic Hydrosols also double as delightfully sheer 'water perfumes'. I also love layering Hydrosols over our Attars (all oils and hydrosols soon to be released) or select essential oils, such as sandalwood or vetiver.
Try Rose or Jasmine Hydrosol layered over a swash of Saffron Attar. I like to apply the Saffron Attar on my forehead, where it becomes a fragrant 'bindi', then mist with Rose or Myrtle Hydrosol. Try Rock Rose (Cistus) or Frankincense Hydrosol layered over Summer Rose Attar, or Jasmine Hydrosol with Motia Attar, or Rose Hydrosol over the codistilled Vetiver and Edward Rose Attar. Experiment! There are endless possibilities and no mistakes when you play with the aromas of nature.... The fragrance literally becomes you.
