Found in deserts all over the world the opuntia species has been a global dietary staple for millennia. Both the cactus pads and the cactus fruit are edible. The precious oil comes from the small dark seeds within the fruit, and is extracted through cold pressing.
Prickly pear seed oil contains twice the vitamin E of argan and a hefty dose of antioxidants. It is rich in linoleic acid, a nourishing, softening and quick-absorbing essential fatty acid.
